Inaugural April 2021 class co-hosted and co-developed by the Page Research Group at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls.

Our community outreach efforts are currently focused on the development of a middle school workshop, Materials: Solving the Puzzle from the Bottom UpWe ran our first workshop virtually in April of 2021, with 26 middle school girls. We plan to package the program into a TechShopz In A Box™ (free, fun and engaging hands-on tech workshops for teenage girls, run by TechGirlz).

Workshop materials were generously provided to the team through the Mini Grant Program of the Division of Diversity and Engagement, Office of Community Engagement and Outreach, University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Prof. Page is the Board Secretary and a volunteer with Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls (ORCSGirls), an organization hosting classes, camps and competitions aimed at inspiring middle school girls in East Tennessee to actively explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers.
